Course project - an academic playground sparking creativity, where practical engineers are nurtured (19/07/2026)

In the strategy for developing high-quality technical human resources in Vinh Phuc Province, the Faculty of Electricity at Vinh Phuc College of Engineering and Technology always plays a role as one of the key faculties of the college. With a tradition of training closely tied to production realities and placing professional competence at the core, the Faculty of Electricity continuously innovates training content, enhances teaching quality, and promotes the scientific research movement among students.

1. Training aligned with production practice and digital transformation

In recent years, the training curriculum of the Faculty of Electricity has been built around modern technology approaches to meet business requirements in the era of industrialization and digital transformation. Students gain access to fields such as:

- Industrial electricity.

- Residential electricity.

- PLC control.

- Smart power systems.

- Renewable energy systems.

- IoT technology in the electrical sector.

- Application of artificial intelligence (AI) in monitoring and operating power systems.

Alongside theoretical lectures, students engage in direct hands-on practice with real models, equipment, and power systems, building solid professional skills while still in school.

2. Course project – An academic playground sparking creativity

One of the prominent professional activities of the Faculty of Electricity is organizing annual course projects, student scientific research topics, and innovative technical solutions.

In each course, students are assigned group or individual projects under the direct guidance of lecturers. The project content focuses on practical issues such as:

- Designing power supply systems for factories.

- Designing residential electrical systems for apartments and residential areas.

- Designing motor control electrical cabinets.

- Smart lighting systems.

- Electric vehicle charging station models.

- Energy-saving and green energy solutions.

Through the research process, students not only apply acquired knowledge but also hone analytical thinking, teamwork, presentation skills, and practical engineering problem-solving capabilities.

3. Serious and professional atmosphere during project defense sessions

During the defense, students must:

- Present the design proposal.

- Explain the operational principles of the system.

- Calculate and select equipment.

- Analyze economic and technical efficiency.

The topics are elaborately developed, closely aligning with the training curriculum and the practical needs of enterprises. This provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate their professional competence, research ability, and vocational confidence before entering the real working environment.

Student groups present research results on practical models and technical documentation under the evaluation of the professional board.

Members of the professional board work objectively and impartially.

 

Students and lecturers of the Faculty of Electricity take a commemorative photo after the course project defense session on the topic of power supply system design and calculation.

Such defense sessions have become an annual academic activity, contributing to a dynamic, creative, and highly practical learning environment.

5. Promoting scientific research and technical innovation

Not stopping at course projects, the Faculty of Electricity also encourages students to participate in scientific research, technical innovation, and professional competitions at various levels.

Many topics have been implemented in directions such as:

- Application of AI in electrical equipment monitoring.

- Smart control systems.

- Smart Home.

- Smart EV charging stations.

- Solar power systems.

- Power-saving solutions in industrial production.

These projects not only carry academic significance but also possess high practical applicability, fitting well with green technology development trends and Industry 4.0.
