Samsung Vietnam Delegation Conducts Survey and Working Session at Vinh Phuc College of Engineering Technology: Opening Up Opportunities for Cooperation and High-Tech Workforce Training (02/10/2026 16:57 - Views: 42)

On the afternoon of September 28, 2026, Vinh Phuc College of Engineering Technology was honored to welcome a delegation from Samsung Vietnam, led by Mr. Kim Yong Sup – Deputy General Director of Samsung Vietnam, for a visit, working session, and on-site survey. The visit was an important activity that opened up specific directions for cooperation in developing technology talent, training a high-quality technical workforce, and researching the implementation of the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) model at the college.

Strengthening Connections between the College and a Leading Technology Corporation

Receiving and working with the Samsung Vietnam delegation, Vinh Phuc College of Engineering Technology was represented by Dr. Ha Vu Tuyen – Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the College; members of the Board of Management; and representatives of the leadership of various departments, faculties, and centers.

Speaking at the working session, Dr. Ha Vu Tuyen – Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the College – provided an overview of the establishment and development process as well as the training capacity of Vinh Phuc College of Engineering Technology. Currently, the college offers training in 63 occupations and majors, with more than 10,000 students enrolled each year. Its training programs focus on engineering and technology fields associated with the workforce demands of enterprises, such as Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, and supporting industries. Notably, the college has been licensed to provide Semiconductor training since 2025, along with programs in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Precision Mechanical Engineering, and Information Technology. These are fields that are highly connected with the development trends of the electronics industry, supporting industries, and the demand for technical personnel throughout the production chains of technology enterprises. With a training orientation closely linked to practical enterprise needs, emphasizing practical skills and keeping up to date with new technologies, the college identifies cooperation with major technology corporations and enterprises as one of the key solutions to improving training quality, enabling learners to gain early access to modern technologies and real-world production environments.

At the working session, the two sides focused on discussing training capacity, the demand for high-tech human resources, and the potential for cooperation in implementing the Samsung Technology Talent Development Project – Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC); while also exploring the possibility of establishing an SIC Lab – a specialized laboratory under the SIC program at the college.

According to the proposal, the college is expected to allocate approximately 1,000 m² of space, as well as personnel for organization and operation; while Samsung will consider providing support in terms of facilities, equipment, and technology, while also participating in training and technical transfer. The technology space is oriented toward focusing on pioneering technology fields such as electronics, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, automation, information technology, mechanical engineering and supporting industries, and smart manufacturing. In the initial phase, the model is expected to serve approximately 9,000 students each year, with priority given to learners in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Semiconductor Technology, Information Technology, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, and related technical fields. If implemented, the SIC Lab will not only serve as a space for technology learning and practical training but will also aim to become an environment where students can gain access to new technologies, improve their practical capabilities and innovative thinking, and gradually become familiar with the requirements of high-tech enterprises.

Opportunities to Access Pioneering Technologies

At a working session with the leaders of Phu Tho Province on the same day, Mr. Kim Yong Sup – Deputy General Director of Samsung Vietnam – introduced the corporation’s key programs for developing technology talent. Among them, Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) is a technology talent training program for students in core fields such as AI, IoT, and Big Data. Notably, from 2026, the program introduced semiconductor technology into its curriculum for the first time at three levels: introductory, basic, and advanced; while also promoting the expansion of the SIC Lab network in localities. In addition, the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow program, in cooperation with the National Innovation Center (NIC), continues to encourage students to apply STEM knowledge to address practical problems.

Researching the introduction of these programs to students at Vinh Phuc College of Engineering Technology will create additional opportunities for learners to access new knowledge and technologies, particularly in fields with high demand for human resources such as semiconductors, electronics, AI, IoT, and automation.

Opening Up Prospects for High-Quality Workforce Training Cooperation

Following the exchange program, the Samsung Vietnam delegation directly surveyed the facilities, equipment, practical training rooms, workshops, and training environment of Vinh Phuc College of Engineering Technology. The survey provided the delegation with a direct overview of the college’s training conditions, practical training capacity, and potential for developing high-tech training programs. This also provides a basis for the two sides to continue discussions and study suitable cooperation options in the coming period. By combining the college’s strengths in practical technical workforce training with Samsung’s experience, technology, and talent development ecosystem, the cooperation programs, if implemented, will aim to strengthen the connection between training and the actual needs of enterprises.

The visit, working session, and on-site survey by Samsung Vietnam at Vinh Phuc College of Engineering Technology took place in the context of Phu Tho Province stepping up cooperation with Samsung in developing supporting industries, supply chains, and high-quality human resources, including practically trained technical personnel. For Vinh Phuc College of Engineering Technology, this is an opportunity to further expand cooperation with a leading technology corporation, while concretizing its training orientation toward closer alignment with enterprises, technology, and labor market needs.

The research and potential implementation of Samsung Innovation Campus and the SIC Lab at the college are expected to create an additional modern environment for technology learning and practical training for students; contributing to the enhancement of professional expertise, vocational skills, and the ability to adapt to the increasingly demanding requirements of the labor market. Through this, the college will gradually affirm its role in training a high-quality technical workforce, particularly in emerging technology fields such as semiconductors, electronics, automation, information technology, and smart manufacturing, thereby contributing to meeting the industrial development needs of Phu Tho Province and enterprises within the supply chain.
